The Genting Jatiwangi Coolers Show Off Muscles





Liputan6.com, Majalengka - The new contest starts after Friday prayers. But long before that, hundreds of people were present at the location.




In the low light room, Friday, August 11, 2017, 70 stocky men stood in front of a mirror. But it is not the powder, lipstick, or eyeliner they use but coconut oil.




They smeared the body with oil, preparing to take part in a bodybuilding contest between Jebor in Jatiwangi, Majalengka, West Java. The name of the event was Jatiwangi Cup.

Jebor is a term for a traditional tile company in Jatiwangi. Previously, there were already two contests. In 2016, the location of the contest was in Jebor Edi Jaya. Now it is Jebor Tenang Jaya's turn in Loji Village, which is the host. Jatiwangi Cup was held to commemorate the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.




On the other hand, six judges prepare in front of the stage. Their backgrounds are diverse. There were Sani (champion of Jatiwangi Cup 2016), Siti Julaeha (owner of Jebor Tenang Jaya), Indri Novia Desliani (Transportation Department of Majalengka), Yuni Anggraini (Satpol PP), Dominique Lammli (artist from Switzerland), and Loranitha Theo (Jatiwangi Art Factory) .




At 14.00 the contest starts. The master of ceremonies asked the participants, starting with the smallest serial number, to go up to the stage which was composed of clay mounds about two meters high.




From 70 participants, the jury chose 23 participants. Then 23 selected participants were invited to return to the stage. At the end of the event, the jury will determine the 12 best candidates. (By: Gde Dharma Gita Diyaksa / Liputan.com)
